Hello!

I was going to write a lengthy journal on how I've tired of DeviantArt. But I won't. Instead, I want to talk about my current art experience. I may be quiet but I am still creating. I'm sketching. I'm sculpting. I'm painting. I'm writing. I also study full time.

I feel like the content of my galley no longer reflects who I am. I always admired artists who could make good fanart, but it was never up my alley. My own fanart was always about one part self-fulfilment and another part getting unwarranted attention. And it continues to get it ten years after its creation despite its extraordinarily conventional forms. It's not about the art. It never was. And I'm twenty-four now; too old to care about fandom opinions.

My original content rarely gets as much attention. Perhaps it's not good enough. Perhaps it's posted on the wrong website. But actually, I'm happy with that.
I feel like I'm still looking for my true medium. I'm probably not. I'm probably just walking around waiting for the day that my art will become extraordinary. But trying new things is good for personal development, so that's something.

In short, Dev has been my online home since I was sixteen and it is time I moved on.

Thank you for being awesome!

Also, give these guys a watch, if you haven't already.

I'm contemplating deleting my gallery. But I might need another place to go first. We'll see, time will tell.

Heya!

Baily, my Oakfern fawnling, has a very spacey life journal.

She was born in 745, so I'd like her to meet fawnlings wandering about Blackwood in 755. She's especially interested in trapping fawnlings for the purpose of researching the effects of her toxins - and for this purpose the victims mustn't die. I'm also up for run-ins with fellow wandering Oakferns (she wouldn't attack one of them).

But I am in particular looking for a Glenmore stag for her to befriend. Baily is obsessed with the sun and I need someone who can teach her about the Glenmore lore of Óganach - The Sky King.

Anyone who thought PIPA and SOPA were bad ideas should help spreading knowledge about ACTA. Don't let them alter Internet as we know it, don't let them take away our free speech. Don't let them quiet us down!

Every book of history
Has a dark chapter
But the difference that you and I make
Has yet to be written

Eclipse, the exiled sister of Celestia and Luna, makes her return and claims to be the rightful queen of Equestria. After a short and intense battle that causes a rift through time and space, strange things start to happen.

Arc: The Rift

One fateful morning, Princess Celestia receives word from Whinnyapolis, the big sister city of Ponyville. Strange things are going on – ponies are disappearing and it is rumored that monstrous creatures have been emerging from the forest, along with whispers of an omen that spells the doom of Equestria.
When Twilight Sparkle is sent there to investigate the cause of the events, her friends journey with her through the dangerous Everfree Forest to the Elder Forest. After battling an unknown force of monsters known as Stone Backs, they eventually encounter a powerful winged unicorn that is to blame for conjuring the monsters from other universes.

The pony is as big as Celestia, and her pelt is white. But despite it being just as snow white as that of Celestia, it radiates something eerie rather than pure, only amplified by the dark aura that makes up her night-black, star-less mane. With her dark eyes, irises as black as the eclipsed sun on her flank, she seems to represent something dark and twisted. Something that is recognized only in the faint glance of darkness that lies within us all.

The stranger presents herself as Queen Eclipse, lost daughter of Gaia – the mother of Celestia and Luna. She declares that all of Equestria soon will fall before her. The worthy will be spared, and the strongest of the trash will spend their lives in her servitude as they build her new empire upon the graves of their friends.
With the Elements of Harmony assembled, Twilight Sparkle thinks that she will be able to stop the evil force. She performs a difficult magic ritual that she finds instructed in Eclipse's spell book, with hopes of banishing the corrupted alicorn to the realm from which she came.

Celestia realizes her mistake too late. When the Princesses of Day and Night arrive, they find the six ponies lying lifeless in a pool of oozing black sludge, spreading throughout the Elder Forest in the form of a dark flowing ribbon, neither liquid nor gas. Celestia and Luna manage to fish their friends out of harm's way and make sure that they arrive safely at an inn in Whinnyapolis.

Deeply shaken as they wake up, Twilight Sparkle and her five friends are told by Celestia the story of how her mother, Queen Gaia, sacrificed herself in order to seal Eclipse in Opaque, a dark realm. Now, after the passing of five millennia, she has slipped out from her prison. And what is worse, Twilight Sparkle has accidentally torn a slit in the fabric of time and space.
